Migrating with Outlook
These instructions are for m1services.com users who have been using Outlook to access their m1 email. This will show you how to setup your new exchange account in Outlook and also keep your existing data from your old email account.
Note: You will lose all "Recent People" (the recently sent to emails that appear when you start typing a name in the To box of an email) but you will keep all saved contacts.
Read this first: You will lose all rules you may have setup in Outlook. If you would like to recreate your rules for your new account after the migration, you may want to take note of your existing rules. To view your rules, click on Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts. You can then take note or make a screenshot of your existing rules to remind yourself what you'll need to recreate.

1. Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings

2. In the new window, in the Email tab, look for your m1 account under "Name" (you may have multiple if you have a personal account). Next to your m1 account in the Type column you should see either POP or IMAP. If it says POP, go to step 13. If it says IMAP, continue to step 3.

3. IMAP accounts: All of your mail will already be transferred to your new exchange account in the proper folders. You will however need to export your contacts and calendar if you have anything saved in them. Close the Account Settings window and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export

4. Select Export to a file and click Next. Then select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next. Now select either your Contacts or your Calendar and click Next (You may have to expand your email account to view contacts/calendar by clicking on the small arrow next to the email address).

5. For "save exported file as" click Browse. Browse to Documents > Outlook Files (if the folder does not exist, create it). Name the file "contacts.pst" or "calendar.pst" depending on which one you selected and click Ok. Click Finish. Outlook may prompt you to create a password for the file. Leave this blank and click Ok.

6. Repeat Steps 3-5. If you exported calendar, now export contacts and visa versa.
7. If you have successfully exported everything you need you can go back to File > Account Settings > Account Settings and select your email account and click "remove". You are now ready to add your new email account. Follow the instructions here and then return to Step 8: Add Email Account
8. Now that you have added your new email account you'll need to import your calendar/contacts. Go back to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.

9. This time select "Import from another program or file" and click Next. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.

10. Browse for the file you created earlier and click Next. Expand "Outlook Data File" and Select either Contacts or Calendar. Select "Import items into the same folder in:" and select your new email account in the drop down list. Click Finish.

11. Repeat steps 8-10 for other item (calendar or contacts).
12. You are finished! You will now be able to see your old calendar and contacts items as a separate file from your new calendar and contacts.
13. POP Accounts: When you add your new account you may see some of your mail was transferred but it will not be all of it and it will not contain any folders or changes you made in outlook. For this reason, you will need to keep your old email as an archive. To do this, you may go ahead and click Remove for your m1 email account in the Email tab. Your data will not be deleted.

14. If you click on the Data Files tab you can see that your data is still in Outlook, it just no longer has a connection to the server. To keep from confusing this file with your new account you'll want to change its name. Select the data file and click Settings

15. Under "Name" change the name of the file to something that will help you remember it is your old email data. You may call it "archive" or "old email" or something of the sort. Click Ok.

16. You are now ready to add your new email account. Follow the instructions here and you will be finished: Add Email Account
